User Interface Redesign

This release of DatStat Connect™ App Studio is designed to improve the user interface and its form and function, keeping participant engagement as the highest priority but also understanding that goal is best served with a good user experience. This UI redesign includes an update to the color scheme and overall layout of DatStat Connect™ App Studio, as well as changes to improve navigation and processes for ease of configuration and management. Below is an overview of what has been implemented or moved with the user interface redesign:

  • The page and module configurations for Desktop and Mobile renderings have been brought together to make configuring them more convenient. Rather than having to create new pages and modules for each rendering type, both can be configured in one location, allowing for easier reuse and re-purposing of content.
  • Users can now configure page text and email content with the new text editor. This allows users to enter and style content without needing to enter it in HTML, although the option still exists for users that prefer it. The text editor contains a number of functions common to word processing programs, such as bolding, italicizing, and underlining text, creating lists, and inserting images, among other functionality.
  • Now when configuring pages, each page provides a Module Overview to describe the layout of modules on the selected pageOverviews detail the columns configured for a page, the column’s background color, the modules each column contains, and each module’s width within that column. This gives users a better understanding of how modules will render on a page.
  • Modules that require files, such as image modules, now allow users to browse and select files on their computer while configuring the module, rather than needing to navigate to the Resources page. Once uploaded, all files are listed and available from the Resources page (previously known as the Files page)
  • Part of the redesign effort included relocating a number of pages to provide more intuitive navigation and grouping of configuration pages. These changes include the following:
    • The profile configurations for participant portals have been consolidated under the Profile section and include: Account Information page, Security page, Notifications page, and Persistent Sidebar Content page.
    • The Consent page in the participant portal now contains Signatory Page text field, a CSS field for styling the Signature page, and the Signature Success page.
    • The Verification page in the participant portal contains configurations for verifying participants, located in the Enrollment section.
    • Google Analytics Tracking ID and URL Key Pairings are configured on the Analytics page, in the Settings section.
    • The custom CSS field for styling the selected portal and the Status Code Colors are configured on the Styles page, in the Settings section.
    • Portal Footer configurations are now located on the General page, in the Settings section.
    • Participant Identifiers in the coordinator portal are now located on the General page, in the Settings section.
