General Population Details

Configure the population name and description as well as a set of email from addresses to use throughout a configured workflow.

1.View General Population Details

  1. Navigate to the Populations page under the Administration menu.
  1. Click either on the row containing the population or click the gear icon that is in line with the population name on the far right of the screen.
  1. The user administrator will be taken to the population configuration area where access to two pages is provided:
  • General
  • Security
  1. By default, the General page will be the selected page when landing in the configuration area.

The details available on the General page are:

  • Name: The population name.
  • Description: The description of the population.
  • Email From Addresses: The email from address configuration is used for all emails that are sent from campaign/workflow configurations for that population.
  1. There is a population drop down menu in the top right of the navigation bar that the user administrator can use to switch between populations on the system.

2.Edit General Population Details

  1. Navigate to the Populations page under the Administration menu.
  1. Click either on the row containing the population or click the gear icon that is in line with the population name on the far right of the screen
  1. Click the Edit button.

  1. Edit the population name and description by changing the text in the Population Name and Description fields.

  1. Click Save to apply changes or click Cancel to ignore them.

2.1.Add Email From Address

  1. Navigate to the Populations page in the Administration area.
  1. Click either on the row containing the population or click the gear icon that is in line with the population name on the far right of the screen.
  1. Click the Edit button on the General page of the selected population.
  1. In the Email From Address section of the General page click + From Address (or +Another From Address if at least one has already been configured).

  1. Select an email address from the From Address drop down and enter an associated Friendly Name. The friendly name will be what the participant or user sees when they receive an email from the system. Populations can have multiple email from addresses to support contacts from different sites or individuals.

  1. Click Save or click Cancel to ignore all changes.

2.2.Edit Email From Address

  1. Navigate to the Populations page in the Administration area.
  1. Click either on the row containing the population or click the gear icon that is in line with the population name on the far right of the screen.
  1. Click the Edit button on the General page of the selected population.
  1. In the Email From Address section of the General page choose an existing configured email from address and change one or both of the following:

  • The email from address by selecting the From Address drop down and selecting a different email from address.
  • The friendly name by selecting the Friendly Name field and changing the text.
  1. Click Save to apply the changes or click Cancel to ignore all changes.
  1. Edits to existing from addresses will be automatically applied to all email configurations for the population.

2.3.Remove Email From Address

  1. Navigate to the Populations page under the Administration menu.
  1. Click either on the row containing the population or click the gear icon that is in line with the population name on the far right of the screen.
  1. Click the Edit button on the General page of the selected population.
  1. In the Email From Address section of the General page click the removeicon to the right of the friendly name of an email from address.
  • If the email address is not currently being used in any email configurations in the population a simple confirmation modal will open to confirm the action

  • If the email address is not currently being used in any email configurations and it is the only email address in the population a simple confirmation modal will open warning that email functionality for the population will be disabled if the address is removed

  • If the email address is being used another email from address that is assigned to the population must be selected to replace the one being removed.

2017-01-13 12_41_30-POPULATION NAME

  • If the email address is being used and is the only address in the population a warning appears stating that the address cannot be removed until all associated emails are removed from the workflow.

  1. Click Save to apply the changes or click Cancel to ignore all changes.
